Thanksgiving, here I come

Come November, I will be giving thanks for THIS:
And all of my Nerfenemies will be giving thanks for a quick Nerfdeath.... if I choose to grant them that.

Shawnee Mission Park

Took the Raleigh out on the trails today. First 5 minutes on the trail, I realized the front wheel was a bit loose, and then broke the quick release skewer while tightening it down. So, one hour later, after hiking out with the bike, driving to the nearest bike store and getting a new QR, I actually got to really ride. Rode for about an hour and fifteen minutes really hard. It was a blast.

Hand-me-down flip flops, hand-me-down stocks, Goodfella Kinfolk hand me down SingleSpeed 29'ers

Well, thanks again to Bill's hookup, I'm the proud new owner of this Raleigh XXIX SingleSpeed 29'er. It makes me feel like a kid again. A kid who is now no longer limited by the quality of his steed, and can now start to become a decent off-road rider. This thing is a blast, and was ridden hard on its maiden (under my command) voyage, as is evident by the copious mud : )

Handlebar Didgeridoo

I don't know if I'm the first person in the world to discover I can play an old set of handlebars like a didgeridoo, complete with circular breathing, but I hope I am.

This is one of the great songs from MASH SF that I couldn't find before... but I found it now : )

I think I'm going to screen-print this T-Shirt.

Too mean?
I don't care.

For background, "A Missed Connection is an occurrence where two or more people are unable to exchange contact information or the information that is exchanged is lost. These missed connections are generally associated with romance, but they may also be business-related or otherwise. Through the use of publications and internet websites some people seek to reconnect with their missed connection." (wiki)

Walnuts

So in my backyard, there's this walnut tree, and it has been dropping nuts like you wouldn't believe. It's a pretty small tree, but it is so productive. The squirrels have been going CRAZY for them, and after the last one I shot, I feel like I can take a hiatus from squirrel-killing. Therefore, I've been using the pellet gun, pumped only once or twice.... so it probably shoots less than 150 fps. The squirrels just kinda drop the nuts and run away looking confused, and then are back 10 minutes later. Definitely non-lethal, and probably barely painful. A while ago I shot myself in the arm with my plastic BB airsoft gun (I'm going to estimate 140 fps) from point blank range just to see what would happen (Naomi witnessed it), and it wasn't that bad. Anyway, the squirrels love the walnuts, is the point, and I've enjoyed watching them eat them, even when I'm not pelting them with small pieces of lead... so I gathered up the ones in the backyard today after I mowed, and this is how many I got:

So I'm gonna leave that on the deck right there, to see how many I can get swarming the deck; and see how crazy Skoney will go watching them from the kitchen door.

Reunion, Alex and Bjorn?

Saddest Burrito Ever

I chose to eat this microwave burrito. I'm not proud of the decision, but I'd do it again. It was pretty tasty. But things like this make me glad I don't HAVE to eat things like this.
Wow, isn't that sad looking?
