holy crap. we really SHOULD avoid the noid!

"The Noid [...] was an advertising character for Domino's Pizza in the 1980s. He was a villainous red-suited character who attempted to ruin Domino's pizza but was constantly thwarted."

But wait, it gets much, much better:
"In 1989, Kenneth Lamar Noid, a mentally ill customer who thought the ads were a personal attack on him, held two employees of an Atlanta, Georgia, Domino's restaurant hostage for over five hours. After forcing them to make him a pizza and making demands for $100,000, getaway transportation and a copy of The Widow's Son [(a 1985 novel about secret societies in an 18th century Parisian prison*)], Noid surrendered to the police. Noid was charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault, extortion and possession of a firearm during a crime. He was found not guilty by reason of insanity."

i am all that is man

well, maybe that's a bit over the top, but i do feel pretty good. just did an almost-2-hr ride on the new bike, pretty good pace, and i was neck in neck with the other guy on his road-bike the entire time (except for one downhill where i couldn't spin faster than the 150+ rpm that we estimated i was doin...) set the pace on climbs, etc. no trouble keeping up, which was great, and a surprise with my low ratio. switching to 17t will be all i need to do to make it pretty perfect, i think : ) all in all a good, fun, comfortable ride. i love this new bike.

KHS stands for Kickin', Hoppin', Stabbin'...

...cause that's how bad ass the new bike is; it's like a deadly ninja, kickin people, hoppin around off of balconies, fountains, and rooftops, and stabbin people 8 times before they hit the ground.

the new stem makes all the difference in the world. for the first time, a bike actually fits me well. lordy it's nice. the bars are perfect in terms of reach; they are much closer to flop-n-chops lengthwise, which is great, because i don't like to be really stretched out while out on the horns. and the flat part of the bars is actually phenomenally comfortable. i can rest my palms on there and it is so broad and supportive. i could ride there for a long time w/o any problems. i can also grab in close to the stem on the round part of the bars, which is just substantial enough to give me a good solid grip on it. the brake lever, while at an angle that is not aesthetically pleasing, is much more functional than those setups where people run the cross-top lever parallel with the flats of the bars... that is just stupid, you'll give yourself carpal tunnel just tryin to reach it. anyway, i could pull the brake off quickly, for.... i don't know, the proverbial stuntin', but i'm gonna leave it on for now (you're welcome naomi).

thanks to bill too for all the hookups on the new cockpit.

(yes, yes, i KNOW that the date on the pictures says 6/8/2005... this camera's a piece of junk, so the date's wrong, and i always forget to turn to date option OFF until i'm already home. anyway, i cropped it out of most of the pictures, but that one, it would've just ruined the look of it, so i left it in there. shut up.)

better pics to come soon as soon as i go for first ride : )
